about

To commemorate a double header show the band had with Animaux, The Cactus Channel have released a special online remix of Animaux’s ‘Alaska’. It’s not just any old remix though – none of that Ableton shit. The band got into their bungalow and recorded their own song underneath the ‘Alaska’ acapella, completely transforming the original into a spooky soul banger.

A ten piece band from Melbourne, Australia — all born in the 90s and raised on the internet, The Cactus Channel are consistently turning heads and shifting opinions about what it is to be an instrumental 10 piece band in the era of laptop producers and Kanye.

Animaux. They’re young, but rest assured, this is no ordinary teeny-bopper band. Sure, in this day and age of synth and autotune they have a bigger brass section than most bands, but that doesn’t mean they won’t get you up and moshing.
